Kiriko Patch Kits

Kiriko Patch Kits

Based in Portland, Kiriko is an apparel shop specializing in vintage and modern Japanese fabrics. I’ve bought a few items from them before (tote bags, handkerchiefs), and they threw in one of these extra small patch kits with one of my orders for free a while back.

Here’s the description from the product page:

Mottainai, it’s a phrase in Japan that means “waste nothing.” It’s a value we live by here at Kiriko, we save every piece of fabric, with the intention of reusing it in the future. This kit represents our hope that each piece of fabric from our studio has a purpose and a story that will be continued. If you have a piece of clothing that needs mending, these patches will add that unique touch.

The 3x3″ patches (five included in the $8 kit) make great and unique bookmarks, too! You should also check out their notebooks and other stationery items.

Muji Hexa Pen Set Mini

Muji Hexa Pen Set Mini

I picked these up at Muji because they were way cheap ($5), and I liked the idea of having a portable set of different colored pens for when I want to mix it up. I live an exciting life with my stationery lol.

The 10 colors included with the set:

  • Black
  • Red
  • Blue
  • Sky Blue
  • Yellow
  • Purple
  • Pink
  • Plum
  • Yellow
  • Green

You can make them easier to hold onto by sticking the pen cap on the back, but they can pop off sometimes, which is annoying — the price you pay for cute! Buy them at Muji for $5. Amazon doesn’t have these reasonably priced at the moment, but it’s selling the full-size and easier-to-hold pens in a set for around $13.
